My client is specialized in the law sector for ONG around the world. They are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer for their Brussels office's.

The IT System Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure including end-user systems. The system admin participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

The system admin will work with other IT team members to assist end-users solving common hardware and software problems. The system admin ensures that system hardware, software and related procedures adhere to organisational values, enabling staff interns and volunteers to carry out their work.

Key responsibilities



* Work with the Head of Administration and IT to oversee the migration to, and implementation of, an up-to-date IT system across the organisation;
* Work with other members of the IT team to administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
* Maintain network infrastructure including servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems; Install and maintain all local software. Maintain all local software and hardware licensing;
* Maintain and test Disaster Recovery systems including backups;
* Induct and train new staff and interns in all relevant IT systems, provide ongoing training to staff as necessary;
* Provide day-to-day helpdesk support to all staff;
* Monitor the implementation of ICT policies;
* Keep inventory of all hardware, software and other IT equipment.

Required Experience / Key Skills



* Substantial IT experience with technologies including; IP Networking, Firewalls, Server Operating Systems (Windows 2012/2016 AD), backup systems, antivirus products, desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7 and 10 pro), Exchange Server
* Virtualisation (Hyper V), cloud computing, Windows scripting and automation, VPN technologies. SharePoint Administration Qualifications in Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware, Experience with VOIP systems; Database skills, database administration / SQL server knowledge and experience; Experience of working in a not-for-profit organisation or legal environment
* Ability to execute work independently and take the initiative when required (essential)
* Understands the importance of documentation and has a "can do" attitude (essential);
* Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal. Polite and courteous. Ability to liaise effectively with all staff on all sites (essential).
* Fluent in English and French (essential).
